HOW TO MONITOR A STOCK IN THE CLUB'S PORTFOLIO

Monitor's Summary

As monitor of a stock for your club, you have the major responsibility for keeping records. In addition to monthly, quarterly, and annual data, you should keep all SSGs, including any notes as to the rationale for the purchase. A short statement or narrative attached to the first SSG would be a good way to keep a record pertaining to your club's decision to purchase. In this packet you will find forms designed to help in organizing and presenting information.

It is important to report information to club members so that decisions concerning buying and selling can be made. The basic format for organizing important current trends, news, and ongoing financial data can be found in the Monitor's Monthly Report, Quarterly Report, and Annual Report. You should know when quarterly and annual data are available and maintain updated SSGs. You also might want to use the following to maintain a simple record of Price and PE to monitor your stock and perhaps note trends of interest to your club.
